Pricing is where your academy starts earning. Klimb supports straightforward one-time prices per course, free enrollments for lead generation, and a single display currency for your storefront. This guide covers how to set prices that convert and how Klimb handles the money behind them.
One-time pricing
Every paid course in Klimb is sold for a one-time price. A learner pays once and receives a permanent entitlement to that course — lifetime access to its lessons and any future updates you make. To set a price:
- Open the course in your dashboard and go to the Pricing tab.
- Choose Paid and enter your amount.
- Save. The price goes live as soon as the course is published.
Prices are charged through your connected Stripe account at checkout. If you haven’t connected Stripe yet, see Connecting your Stripe account first — paid courses can’t be published until you do.
Free courses
Set a course to Free to let learners enroll without paying. Free courses are ideal for:
- A taster that funnels learners into your paid catalog
- Building your learner list and email audience
- Onboarding or community content you want everyone to have
Free enrollments still create a real entitlement, so learners appear in your dashboard and their progress is tracked exactly like paying learners. You don’t need Stripe connected to publish free courses.
Choosing your currency
Your academy charges in a single display currency that you set in Settings → Billing. Every course price uses this currency, and it’s the currency your learners see at checkout. A few things to keep in mind:
- Pick the currency that matches your Stripe account’s home country and your bank.
- Changing currency later affects new prices — review existing course prices afterward so they still read correctly.
- Stripe converts for international learners during checkout, so a learner abroad can still pay even though your storefront shows one currency.
Pricing tips
- Round to clean numbers. Prices like 49 or 99 read better than odd decimals.
- Anchor with a free course. A strong free offering makes your paid courses feel like the natural next step.
- Don’t forget the platform fee. Klimb takes a small percentage per sale depending on your plan, so factor that into your target take-home. See Understanding payouts and fees.
Changing a price later
You can update a course price anytime from the Pricing tab. New prices apply only to future purchases — learners who already bought keep their entitlement at the price they paid, and you never re-charge them. If you want to run a temporary discount instead of permanently changing the price, use a coupon code; see Creating coupons and discounts.
Once your prices are set, learners can enroll right away. Read How enrollment works to see the full checkout-to-access flow.
