Welcome to Klimb. Your academy is your own branded online school, where you publish courses, sell them, and teach your learners — all under your brand, on your own subdomain or custom domain. This guide walks you through creating your academy and getting oriented for your first day.
Sign up and create your academy
Creating an academy takes a couple of minutes:
- Go to klimblearn.com and choose Get started.
- Create your creator account with your email and a password (or use a social login).
- When prompted, enter your academy name — this is the public name learners will see, like “Bright Path Studio” or “Coastal Photography School.”
- Confirm your account from the verification email we send you.
Each academy is its own tenant: an isolated workspace with its own courses, learners, branding, and billing. You manage everything from the Studio, your private admin area.
Claim your slug and subdomain
Every academy gets a free address on klimblearn.com. During setup you’ll pick a slug — the short, URL-friendly name that becomes your subdomain:
- A slug of
brightpathgives youbrightpath.klimblearn.com. - Slugs can use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
- Choose carefully: your slug is part of your public links and is awkward to change once learners have bookmarked it.
You can always add your own custom domain later, like academy.yourbrand.com, while keeping the subdomain as a fallback. If you’re not ready to decide, the default subdomain works perfectly and you can keep using it indefinitely.
Find your way around the Studio
After setup, you land in the Studio — the control center for your academy. From here you can:
- Build and publish courses and their lessons.
- Manage learners and their entitlements (what they’re allowed to access).
- Connect billing and track Stripe payouts.
- Apply your white-label branding — theme, logo, colors, and fonts.
- Review analytics on enrollments, revenue, and lesson completion.
For a full walkthrough, see The Studio Dashboard.
Your first steps
You don’t need to do everything at once. A good first session looks like this:
- Create a course. Even a one-lesson draft helps you learn the flow. See Creating Your First Course.
- Pick a theme. Choose a white-label theme that fits your brand.
- Connect Stripe when you’re ready to sell, so payments and payouts flow to your bank — see connecting Stripe.
What’s next
Once your academy exists, your goal is to get to launch. Don’t worry about perfection — you can edit branding, pricing, and content at any time, and changes go live instantly for learners.
When you’re ready to open the doors, run through the Launch Checklist to make sure branding, your first course, payments, and your domain are all in place. Curious about plans and limits? See pricing.
